And so it begins…

We often don’t know where to start a story that involves so much growth and progress in our own mind. We look in the mirror and see the current version of ourselves. That person looking back took a long time to get to us. We are all works in progress. We are our past experiences and we carry them through life.

My story starts back when I was 17 years old. I had just finished my last season of high school wrestling with a disappointing realization that I had not measured up to my potential. I was at a crossroads in my young, privileged life. As I sat on the side of the mat feeling a little bit sorry for myself, I was introduced to a man who would provide me with hope and a chance to start over. His name was Phil and he coached for an opposing team. He told me, “Your story with wrestling is not over.”

He was right.

What was a crossroads moment for you?

When did you know you are were on the right path?
